Therapy for people in Port St. Lucie
Port St. Lucie is a place of changing neighborhoods and new beginnings. You can meet me at my Vero Beach office or by video from a private place in Florida. I do not have an office in Port St. Lucie.
Arriving somewhere does not mean feeling settled.
Port St. Lucie is in St. Lucie County, south of Fort Pierce, and is the largest city on the Treasure Coast. A growing city can hold households that have arrived from elsewhere, with relatives and familiar friends far away. That is not everyone's experience here, and a large city is not one uniform story. But if you are trying to build a life without the support network you once relied on, the change can be felt in very ordinary moments.
A job changes, a relationship becomes strained, someone gets sick, and there is nobody nearby who already knows the backstory. You may be capable of managing each task while feeling increasingly alone in the managing. Therapy is not a replacement for community. It can be a place to examine the pattern you have had to build around doing so much without it.
The life transitions page considers what happens when an old way of living no longer fits new conditions. Relocation is one example, but so is the quieter transition of discovering that the life you assembled after a move has needs you did not anticipate.
North to the office, or online from home.
For in-person sessions, the office is at 100 Vista Royale Blvd. in Vero Beach. From Port St. Lucie you would head north on I-95. I do not give a drive time because it depends on where you begin and when you travel. There is no office in Port St. Lucie; I would rather make that clear before anyone plans a visit.
Secure video is available when you are physically in Florida for the session. It may fit more easily into a week already filled with work and caregiving. On the other hand, home may not offer a room where you can speak openly. If that is the obstacle, we can consider the office rather than pretending video is equally private everywhere. The online therapy page covers the practical side.
The format can be part of the conversation. Do you need some time on the road to shift from ordinary demands into a different kind of attention? Or would the journey take more from you than it gives? There is no correct answer to prove. Consistency and room to speak matter more than a preferred format on paper.
What you can bring into the room.
Some people know why they are calling: anxiety, trauma, grief, a strained relationship, or exhaustion that no weekend seems to reset. Others have only a sense that the ways they have been coping cost too much. The specialties overview gives different concerns their own space. You do not need to pick one before a first conversation.
If you are seeking psychedelic integration, that is talk therapy rather than a substance session. It is also offered by telehealth for people physically in Florida, including Port St. Lucie. The integration therapy page explains how that work is approached and what it does not include. I do not provide, prescribe or arrange a substance as part of it.
The question ‘I've tried therapy before and it didn't help’ is worth bringing with you. The answer is not to promise that this time will be different. It is to look at what happened, what was missed, and whether a slower or differently focused conversation might be appropriate. The approach page lays out the principles I use to make those decisions.
Plan around your actual week.
The free phone consultation of up to 15 minutes lets you ask about format, availability and whether the concern is within the scope of this work. You need not make an argument for deserving help. An honest description of what is difficult and what your schedule allows is a better place to start.
The practice is private pay and out of network. No insurer is billed directly, and a superbill is provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement. See the rates page for current fees and questions to ask your plan before beginning. Costs and travel belong in the decision, not in the small print after it.
If you live in a fast-changing place, you may be asked to adapt faster than you can reflect. A therapy hour can make time to notice what those adaptations protect and what they cost. I cannot tell you in advance what will change. I can offer a steady place to examine the life you are living now, whether we meet at the office or through a screen.
